Know Your Farmer Know Your Food Gala 2010
to Benefit the Michigan Local Growers and the Education Resource Fund of Slow Food Detroit

This year's gala is sponsored by Matt Prentice Restaurant Group and Michael Symon's Roast Restaurant

Sunday, August 22nd 2010
The Coach
Insignia Restaurant
GM Global Renaissance Center
Detroit, Michigan
6:00 pm - 10 p.m.

Tickets:  $75 per person

I wanted to tell you about an upcoming event that I hope you will consider attending in support of small family
owned farms in Michigan.

As a board member of Slow Food Detroit
www.slowfooddetroit.org  I have volunteered many hours promoting
the importance of eating locally grown food and how it benefits our health and our economy.  Small Michigan
farms are an integral part of Michigan's economy, and increase the diversity of food grown here and bolster
sales of farm equipment and supplies.

On Sunday, August 22nd won't you please join me and many other people like you who are coming together
for a beautiful summer evening at the Coach
Insignia, one of Detroit's most beautiful restaurants atop the
GM Global RenCen for the 1st Annual Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food Gala?

You will enjoy a wonderful array of delicious food prepared by area chefs and served to you directly from
their Chef stations. You will stroll through the Coach Insignia atop the Renaissance Center not only enjoying
the wonderful food featuring locally grown fare, delicious wine, local beer and a signature cocktail, but you
will be treated to sweeping views of the Detroit River and the City of Detroit. You will hear some of our
local farmers talk about their work and the importance of supporting them which is the main purpose of this fund.

To purchase a ticket, or make a donation all you have to do is go to Slow Food Detroit's website listed above
or right to the Purchase a Ticket page
http://slowfooddetroit.eventbrite.com/

Thank you so much, and I look forward to seeing you there, it will be a great time to reconnect and show your
support for our local farmers and fresh food community.

Here's to all the wonderful Michigan produce now available at Farmer's Markets, roadside stands, and
local grocer's supporting Michigan products.

Buon Appetito!
